We're thrilled to be heading back into Level 2 after this long period of lockdown. Currently there does not appear to be any community spread of COVID-19 cases in NZ.
Bowen Eye Clinic is able to restart all ophthalmology services from Thursday 14 May. This includes seeing new patients, follow up visits and performing all elective surgery including Laser Eye Surgery such as LASIK.
Safety for both you and our staff is our top priority. We will be continuing with additional regular cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces, physical distancing in our waiting room and longer appointment times to ensure people are kept apart. This also allows us to clean and disinfect surfaces between patients. Unfortunately we won’t have water or coffee available and our magazines have been put away.
At our reception there will be hand sanitiser for you to use and the contact tracing register to record all visitors coming into the practice. Our staff will be doing COVID-19 prescreening questions prior to all bookings. If you have cold or flu like symptoms we ask that you let us know before your appointment and we can rebook a time for when you are well.
As always, the Doctor and ophthalmic technician will be following good hand hygiene washing their hands and using hand sanitiser between clients. All equipment is cleaned and disinfected between use. Our staff will continue to wear masks when examining your eyes and we ask that you do not speak during the eye scans, there will be plenty of time to discuss your results at a safe physical distance after your examination.
If you would like to enquire about laser eye surgery, cataract surgery or any other concerns about your appointment you can reach out to us at info@boweneye.co.nz or 0800 69 2020.
Keep safe. See you soon.
